ABOUT TIME RISA FINALLY KICKED LUCIAN TO THE CURB!Ahhhh this series just got all the more better when Risa finally started seeing what everyone else could: Lucian is no good at all.While yes, Azriels' hate for him was questionable, I still can't believe she was so stupid to put up with him and his lies for four books. But finally, she's kicked him, maybe somewhat, to the curb and finally not seeing him anymore. Now Azriel needs to man up and claim her properly instead of constantly being jealous over other guys she sleeps with. I get this is how Arthur writes, can anyone say Riley rip-off? But c'mon, it's getting old. And the fact that we as readers and Risa know how she dies, I'm putting it out there straight away that Azriel will finally man up, she dies and somehow becomes a Reaper sort of thing. It'll happen. Just you watch. In other words Arthur, get some new ideas instead of having a spin-off series of pretty much the exact same series you finished earlier. While this review sounds bad, I mean it kind of is, the books are getting tedious and predictive, I only gave it a four simply because of Risa kicking Lucian to the curb. Yes, I like saying that she kicked him to the curb. But I mean really, did it really need to come to him trying to choke her to realise he's clearly a bad guy? Bloody hell Arthur. Where's the strong feminine characters at? This wasn't a bad book,but I can see why some people didn't like it as much as the previous one in the series. If anything, this is a transition book. Certain things happen to change the relationships between some of the key characters in this novel, but not a whole lot of death-defying action or sexy times. Even the baddie in the novel seems to drop out of the story line for much of the novel, which undercuts any tension that might have been present. I can see that it's setting up the series for the next book to come, but this one could have used a bit more oomph.
