His brothers are 3 of the horseman for the apocalypse. They need their 4th and Lucas is it, he is Death.3 years later "V" is given the orders to kill him. She begged for this assignment. She thinks she's the only one that can bring him down. Will Violets love for Lucas prevent her from killing Death?Wow! I really liked this story. Talk about star crossed lovers. First the action and fight scenes are great. You are really in the fight yourself. The chemistry between Violet and Lucas is off the charts. The story is told from alternating POV's, so you get in their heads. You really feel for these characters and their ultimate dilemma. I think the secondary characters helped Both Violet and Lucas find the humanity they so desperately need. The story flowed well and the character development for the most part was great. I wish we knew more on why Lucas was the 4th. I am still a little unsure if the brothers (War, Conquest, and Famine) are literally or metaphorically his brothers. Other than that I think the story was well written and look forward to the next installment of the story "Torn Wings" coming in 2014.Favorite Quotes:Angels destroyed them all [vampires] decades ago, every last sparkly one of them, and you're welcome.Violet watched me quietly, her eyes flickering between hate and love. I want to hold you and touch you and-" He exhaled. "I. Want. You." Dark Wings rocks!! I love everything about this book.The concept and the flow of the story is great! The characters are also cool.I love how the characters personalities, they are easy to love and they are not boring.I love how they easily captured my interest, especially Lucas!!The drama and issue of the story, it's intriguing. I was intrigue on why Lucas did all the things he' done (being an angel turned demon). And Violet, I love how motivated she was in her mission. Some of the scenes in the story made me crazy, with the witch and Lucas' brothers. AHHH!!The ending of the story is also good, so far I'm happy with it.. Can't wait what will happen next to Lucas and Violet and if they will find the ending they wanted..Ms. Skyla did a really good job in writing this book. It's good and interesting. I'm happy I read this book, great read and worth it.I will recommend this book to readers who love reading paranormal romance.
