I was hesitant to start this book as I didn't 'love' McRieve, but I'm so glad I did. Thronos is a vivid charcater with lots of flaws that you don't normally see in heros -- other than Lothaire. Lanthe has her own share of demons and between them, it takes a while for the horrors of the past to emerge and the truth to be found.Love given easily is easily lost, but love you have to fight to win and keep is something truly wonderous indeed. I really enjoyed the journey that both Thronos and Lanthe had to take to resolve not only their past together, the acts of their families but to find the real people underneath the masks they each wore.I loved seeing characters from previous stories, expecially Nix. She's a true wonder and a force not to be reckoned with. Probably the 1st 4.5 stars I've given to Kresley Cole, I love her. I love the book, the cover is really hot. I wanna know who the hell is the model and that lightning wings, holy fuck just attracted me to vrekeners - but no, I'm still gonna marry a lykae lol. I loved the story line, the chase, and the steamy chemistry! Definitely the adventure, too, for this couple have travelled from one realm to another, what cost that .5 is I felt like the story was dragged way too long for my liking. Both Thronos and Melanthe had issues, once you read it you'll fully understand why they were so fucking reluctant to succumb into what nature really wants to happen which totally annoyed. I liked how the circumstances were reversed in this book, Thronos was the virgin and Melanthe was the one who went around and hopped from one man to another. Although I didn't like that she did, I understand that she has a point when she said that at least if she did settle down, which was unlikely at the time, she wouldn't have to wonder what it would be like to be with another man, what it would be like if she'd been a virgin. Despite their issues together, they worked their way to safety. They co-existed, helped each other, saved each other even though at the beginning Lanthe had no problem leaving Thronos in peril, I think that's what helped their fire ignite bigger. Loved Thronos' wings, too! I imagine what it would be like to be engulfed in the arms of a drop dead gorgeous winged man with horns, it's sort of like a demon with their wings and horns but also angelic because of their face. I think I would love to grip a horn. The reason why I love KC: she makes me consider things, I thought I wouldn't fell in love with demons but oh no, sir! The way she writes things, I think she could make me fall in love with every different creature. Oh yes sir! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DACIANS!This is a highly recommended novel, esp this series. Love it!!!
Do You like book Dark Skye (2014)?
This one was a little weird compared to the rest of the series. Still a decent read.
