This book is definitely a keeper. I loved it for several reasons. There were plenty of books mentioned that I had already read and it was fascinating to see the categories the authors placed them in. I began to look at the books I read before in a different way and wish to re-read them again with their points in mind. They also suggested certain books during a certain event in your life, providing a synopsis of the book and why they chose the selection. There were books I dismissed or had no interest in reading that I have now added to my wishlist.This is a wonderful book that will introduce you to books at the right time or mood of your life. For instance, I read A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and without really investigating what it was about it blew my mind and I cried throughout the most of the book and cried hard at the end. I had no idea it was about grief of losing of love one. I was not in a mood to read such an unexpected heavy book. However, it was a great read and a book that I don't regret reading but I wish I had not read it at that time of my life, I was not prepared for it.This book will stay on my bookshelf and will be used often. Don't know what to read? The Novel Cure suggests novels as reading 'cures' for all sorts of ailments and conditions. From Procrastination (Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro) to Unable to find a cup of tea (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams). Any reader will find at least some recommended books to follow up on. A fun romp through literature, with some of the entries imitating the style of the recommended book and tongue in cheek humour. I read the Australian edition which included a substantial number of Australian novels - well done Text Publishing, but only two New Zealand novels - shame on you Text Publishing.
This book was so much fun! I read it from cover to cover. Very sly humor.
