While this book is an "easy read" in terms of vocabulary and sentence structure, the first part of the book is not so easy to follow. To quote another reviewer, "it's all over the place and not cohesive." Further, the author portrays the family as nearly perfect--I think a little reality is in order.This is a good story and I'm glad the Breedlove family chose to share it. I like how the author stated that "this isn't about a religion but about a relationship with God." I think this book is appropriate for a high school library. This wasn't exactly what I expected to be (thought it was similar to the one that was just made into the movie which I can't recall the name of right now). But even though it was different then I expected, it was a wonderful book to read. Ben sounds like the type of person everyone should meet, someone who makes you a better person for having known them. Be sure to have tissues on hand as you get towards the end, you will cry.
