Wait - a story without any actual time travel? The first two thirds was a bit of a nail-biter, trying to figure out WHO is behind all these sneak attacks, and where the next one will show up, and how they'll stop it...and then the climactic battle. David and his dad certainly are awfully lucky! I had a little trouble figuring out who was where when and what they were doing, but it all eventually shook out, and how interesting that so many of the Marcher lords ended up being allies....wonder how long THAT will last. Loving Lili, and I'm glad they got things worked out between them, finally. The first two books in this series (Daughter Of Time and Footsteps In Time) featured characters from the present day traveling back in time to medieval Wales. The next one (Prince Of Time) had two characters from medieval Wales travel to the present day. I like those kind of time travel stories, where the characters compare the similarities and differences between their time and the time that they end up in. But this one just happened all in medieval Wales. And it is actually an alternate universe medieval Wales, where Llewelyn, Prince of Wales did not die, but the young Edward II does, before he has children. It felt slightly episodic, though, not reaching for a dramatic climax.

Again I enjoyed the politics in this book as well as the continuation of Lili's story.
