The author of this book is a "crazy cat lady" and someone with very strong views on how to be/live a healthy life. She uses this book to share her views. Unfortunately, it's written with a very condescending and holier than thou tone of voice. I agree with a good portion of the views of the author - she is speaking against animal cruelty and in favor of being more mindful of what you eat. Alas, the tone which which these positive messages is portrayed is such that it undermines them -which is disappointing. Fun book - love the idea of a Cat as a Deputy.. but what a lot of things happen in such a small town - it is not even as big as... well you make your own comparisons. Not sure however, that the first book can be followed by a series - has the fun element be worked to death I wonder? So have just got a sample to try out. Managed to read 2 books in 24 hours as back in bed with this ever-recurring cold/cough...
Loved it ... and the 2nd one. And will start the 3rd after I go through some library books.
