About book Cozy Classics: Pride And Prejudice (2012)
Being that Pride and Prejudice is arguably my favorite work, I was bound to love this one or utterly disdain it,and feel strongest about it of any in the series. Interestingly, the words really seemed to capitulate the main heart of book, and the doll for Elizabeth was spot on with its "No". A good, albeit brief, introduction to a beloved classic. This series is not the most eloquent introduction to literary classics for children. But the felt dolls, their expressions, and the authors one word of choice per page spread, are certainly humorous from an adult perspective.Each one of these makes me laugh! And anything that makes me laugh, is worthwhile to me. Illustrating with felting is one of the goals I have for my own stories, so when I was presented with this book I was utterly delighted. And what a wonderful way to introduce young children to classics to boot! It is such a sweet board book and as a felter and photographer I love analyzing the images. The felting is incredibly well done and the lighting and depth of field are lovely. Babies, adults, and those who appreciate brevity over the prolixity of the original novel will love this book.
