Psst….Simon and Schuster… I’m going to let you in on a little secret….you are sitting on a gold mine - CWIA in its original fic form with “Hayden”, his glorious foul-mouth, and all of his crudeness INTACT. Ugh, you’re missing the boat. You need to release the ORIGINAL uncensored story as an anniversary celebration or something. It’s a shame a lot of readers didn’t get the chance to experience the real “Hayden” and the whole story. Yes, I read the pub’d version first. Yes, I loved it. But, the fic is just so much more real, honest, and genuine. I devoured the pub, but I was waaaaay more engrossed and hooked on this version. I literally could not put it down. The raw “Hayden” is delicious and absolutely addicting (more so than cupcakes).I have to say there is a lot of “sex”, BUT Helena Hunting has a way of making it all necessary and integral to the story. You know how in some books there are sex scenes just for the sake of having a steamy hot scene thrown in and after a while you’re like “enough already”?????? Not here! I was screaming more, more, more. The scenes are amazingly hot and sexy and…. argh…. they got me all uncomfortable… he’s just so… yum… and dirty-mouthed… and a bit kinky. The scenes are just so intense, I swear I had the most awful look plastered on my face reading them. The real story of “Hayden” and “Tenley” is exponentially darker and the characters more broken. I absolutely enjoyed the pure and raw story of Edward and Bella much more than the tamed version of “Hayden” and “Tenley”. (But then again, I’m a glutton for anything with a darker story line.) And, I really love how this version ended too. It was absolutely perfect and was in keeping with the characters. Finally, finally I got to finish this book... it's not that it was bad, it's just soooo freaking loooooooooong!!!By the last 200 pages I didn't even care about them anymore, I just wanted it to be over.I will say this: it was pretty amazing the way the author used Twilight's characters and even some of the most important lines of the series to create a new story and maybe if the names were different it would've made it a whole new thing because it does have littlen of Twilight per se in it.Now... I would describe this book as TOO MUCH and TOO MANY, too much explaining, too many pages and sex scenes, God!, did it have to have so much sex?, I ended up sore, tired and not interested in anything remotely sexual.
