This is a funny little story about a panda's first day of school. It talks about how nervous he is and how the other kids and the teacher seem a little scary at first but eventually, they connect and find out that school is fun. It would work well with some of the other books about the first day of school like "Pete the Cat Rocking in my school shoes" by Eric Litwin, or "First Day Jitters' by Julie Dannenberg. ‘Chu's First Day of School’ written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Adam Rex is beautiful book for children which speaks about an event that we never forget - the first day of school, the second in the series that follow this young panda character. The main character is a cute young panda named Chun who is heading for his first day of school which makes him nervous because he doesn’t know what to expect – how the other panda peers will be to him, who will be his teacher, what will happen at school when there will be no parents beside him, will Chu be able to show his talents...‘Chu's First Day of School’ is nicely illustrated and beautifully told story with which is not difficult to identify; everyone remember how nervous was the first day in school and regardless of other people encouraging it seemed to us that the first day of school is something the hardest we will ever do.Besides short though entertaining story perfect to be read aloud, the book especially shines when it comes to its illustrations. Made in such a detailed and realistic way, in some moments you will ask yourselves do you look at images of real animals, not a work of art of one's hands. Therefore, this work full of inspiration for children older than 4 yours made by Neil Gaiman and Adam Rex which speaks about nervous day but still one of the dearest memories of our own lives can be fully recommended.
