This was a cute fun sexy book to read. Its hard to find a good interesting book about witches, usually the magic doesn't come across well on the written page then most books these days are about vamps. So I was please at well this was written and how much I enjoyed it. The scenes really flow well together. It didn't seem as if they were just trying to make it to the next sex scene it was truly a good plot and story. The only disappointment was with the ending. I felt it all came together to quickly. But over all it an enjoyable read. Chick with a Charm by Vicki Lewis Thompson is a fun little paranormal romance novel full of magic and gratuitous sex. Even though it is the second in the Babes on Brooms series, it is not necessary to have read part 1, Blonde with a Wand. There are a few references to the earlier novel, but the main point is explained, and this book centers around a different main character.This is the story of Lily, a wild, fun-loving bartender who also happens to be a witch. During the course of her work, she becomes interested in a handsome lawyer named Griffin. Lily senses that Griffin is attracted to her as well, but he is too straight-laced to ask her out. As her sister's engagement party looms closer and closer, she decides to take matters into her own hands by slipping Griffin a love potion. At first, her plan seems to have worked as Griffin shows up at the bar later that night barely in control of himself. Soon after they make it back to her apartment, he seduces her into a night of extremely steamy sex, and thereby seals the spell. Unfortunately for Lily, her plan soon begins to unravel as it becomes obvious that Griffin is obsessed with her.The bulk of the novel centers around sex, sex, and more sex as Lily grapples with the problem of releasing Griffin from the spell . She wants to keep it in place until after the party, but realizes that Griffin's obsession is beginning to affect his job and smother her. She also discovers that she is falling for him, and knows that once the spell is gone, there is a good possibility that he will be so furious he will walk out of her life forever. Then there is the problem of her dog, Daisy, who, in addition to being either magical or the smartest dog on earth, has fallen in love with Griffin herself, and Lily can't bear the thought of breaking Daisy's heart in addition to her own.If you enjoy romance novels, this is a nice, quick read that would be a great choice for both beach days and snow days. It has the expected romance novel formula and ending, but the magical element keeps it from being too run-of-the-mill.
