About book Charlotte Figg Takes Over Paradise (2010)
At first I thought I'd be bored. Once I connected with the characters, I could hardly put it down. It so reminded me of the laid back life we had as kids in a small town in South Dakota. I also lived in trailer parks for ten years when first married, so could identify with what happened there. The wonder of it all was the unique way faith in God was shared with the reader in a lighthearted way. I loved this story. This is a book guaranteed to make you smile. It's a collection of misfits in a trailer park, but it's so much more. It's a story about learning to believe in yourself, about faith, and about accepting others despite their quirks and idiosyncrasies. It's light, and yet...it has depth. It's also the book being blamed for me staying up way too late because I had to know how it was going to end.If ever there was a book designed to be the perfect addition to anyone's summer reading list, it's this one. It's multifaceted, enjoyable, with great characters, a real jerk of a villain, and delivers a simple message without being preachy or sanctimonious.I almost passed it up--who wants to read about a trailer park and the misfits found there, right? I'm so glad I did read it, and it was one of the funnest reads I've had in a long time.
