Ms. Oram does a splendid job in creating entertaining bumps along the paths of their lives, making us think we've figured out how the book will unfold, only to be bounced onto a new path, and find that love and life are not as straightforward as it ought to be. I'm seriously aggravated with this woman. I got this for free and I my inner dialogue consisted of.. "It's free and I know small town antics, this should be interesting". Halfway through the book, however, I wanted to wring the leads neck because she just seemed to be so concerned about how she was going to get back to a life she really didn't know what she was doing in it in the first place. She felt that she had what she needed but it was clear that she hadn't really dug into her own needs, faced her own fears and stood on her own two feet. Maybe this book just struck a personal cord of aggravation but I really had a hard time feeling for her marrying another person... just because she should. The book isn't bad, it just wasn't for me.
