This was a very cute short story in the Reed Brothers world. We hadn't seen or heard of these two characters before (I was wondering if was missing something when I read this description, but these 2 are brand new, yet still connected). I do wish what was keeping these two apart was more substantial, however, I understand there's only so much you can do in a short story. Still, while I don't quite consider it a Big Misunderstanding, it sorta-kinda was. Still liked it though. 3.5 stars - This was super short NA romance, but a really cute friends taking the next step story. It is tricky doing a romance this short but the leads have a long standing friendship, in which Lacey has put Sean in the 'friend zone' in the past (afraid to lose their friendship) but a jar full of jelly beans and a charity event in which the winner who guesses the number of jelly beans gets a kiss from Lacey - and a little push from their friends - gives Sean a chance to move things to the next level. And the story ends with just the promise of a HEA instead of trying to do to much in the short space. I really enjoyed this little story. I got this as a kindle freebie but I liked it well enough to seek out other stories in this series and in looking at the author's goodreads page I discovered that she is half of the Lydia Dare writing team - I've enjoyed their Gentlemen Vampire and Regency Werewolve series. (as a FYI the story part of the book is around 30% of the content the rest is previews of the rest of the series.)

Cute short story! I loved a little glimpse into the boys life when no major drama is going on.
