This is a good story to the sense that a horse crazy girl ends up making something for herself in the horse world. However, there were a few things that I didn't like. One being that I didn't like that majority of the girls riding in the book were rich and snotty with grooms that follow them to shows. While there are some equestrians that are like that, not everybody is. Other than that, this was a good story that I would recommend to any horse lover. Sidney “Sid” Criser is a poor kid from a troubled family with a love and knowledge of horses. She’s learned about horses from the bottom up and is on her way to being a catch rider, meaning she can ride any horse anywhere. When her Uncle Wayne gets her a job at Oak Hill, the fancy show barn, Sid takes it because the money can help her family. Little does Sid know that a job she thought wouldn’t be anything new leads to a new and exciting opportunity to be more than a poor farm girl. If you are a horse lover than this book is for you. Even if you aren’t a horse lover this book can still be enjoyable as it deals with a girl trying to overcome the odds in what happens to be a horse setting. Sidney is a sweet character and readers will find themselves rooting for her to succeed.
This was a great book with a great ending and is a very quick read.
