Yeah, so I wanted something to make me feel things. A lot of things because I was kinda getting tired of not being able to connect with a story or characters, of all the meh books out there. Rereading favorites is most of the time the answer but when a friend told me about this book and loaned it to me, I kinda went in blind. I just knew that there was a hot Cajun and a big, bad blond by the name of Prophet.Hoo boy. She got me addicted to a new series, one where all of the books focus on the same couple. I don't do that. Okay, correction, I rarely do that. But I guess you should be careful what you wish for.Tommy, the hot Cajun? He's gonna melt you and make you swoon. Prophet, the big bad blond? Will most certainly make you wanna smack him - quite a few times - but the rare glimpses you get from him and about him kinda make up for it. But really, at the end, I was ready to murder someone. So, I'm just gonna dive back into the series, start book 2 and hope for the best! As in, Prophet gets his head out of his ass.4 1/2 stars and bring on more Tommy & Prophet! I love this series I have read the first 3 and I have read them several times. The relationship between Tommy and Prophet is dynamic and heated, but never boring. The background story is solid on its own which I think is a major thing to say if a book is good or great. If you have a good story that doesn't need sex or love to make it interesting the great dynamic relationship between two characters just makes the book better. S.E. Jakes does this in her Hell or High Water Series. It is a well oiled machine where no matter how much you read you just want more!
