A really delightful book about Annie, who has become a Country Western singer, and doingquite well with her records. Suddenly her life falls apart when she comes home to find herboyfriend has left her, soon after her brother is arrested for murder. Its also about families,about them falling apart and having to pull back together in the toughest of times...and abouthow things are not always as they seem. I would classify “Carry Yourself Back to Me” by Deborah Reed as an intertwined love story with elements of a whodunit mystery. I found the book to be an enjoyable read with interesting characters and enough mystery to keep you engaged. While I did find the characters interesting on the surface I would have enjoyed some further character development. I did enjoy the element of the love stories within the novel. The intertwined love stories of betrayal, forgiveness and redemption carries you through to the very last page. Reed never reveals too much or too little at any given point. I did have the impression that the chapters were cut short and the next one started abruptly. This does allow for the reader to make many inferences of what has happened; which isn’t much of a reach for the reader because the clues are there if you are paying attention. If you are looking for a light enjoyable read then I would recommend this book to you. I would not recommend this novel if you are looking for something that is heavy, breaking new ground or with a heavy plot twist.
