This book was a nice change. I loved learning about the desert and the people who live there. The characters' decisions didn't make any sense to me. The author kept claiming that the troubles the main characters faced were due to their stubborn pride. Actually, they all stemmed from a lack of communication. What did these people have against telling each other the truth? I kept reading because I was curious to see what stupid decisions the characters made next. Plus, I wanted to see how they finally resolved their communication issues. They never did.
