At first, I wasn't too sure about how this book would be. I started to read it and it grabbed my attention right away. It's a twist on Romeo and Juliet, with a white girl who really starts to like this guy from Hawaii, when their families are in a conflict from a long time ago. This book is a great romance, and it makes you want to keep reading. At the end of the book, I wanted more. I'd definitely read a sequel of this book if they had one! Caleb + Kate is a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet minus the death part. Kate is the heiress to a successful chains of hotels/inns while Caleb is believed to be a poor scholarship student attending Gaitlin Academy (a school for the rich and elite society) and also the "maintenance guy" working at Kate's inn.I guess the story is not as interesting as I thought it would be. Its like boy meet girl (or vice versa), fell in love, parents don't allow it (in this case, a grandpa) and then the boy have to leave which left the girl heart broken. Eventually, the boy patch things up, ask for forgiveness....etc. I just find the pattern of the story a bit familiar from some of the books I've read. It is recommended if you're looking for light-reading material.
