This was a good one to read immediately after Celebrity in Death, as it briefly covers the premiere of the Icove vid, with appearances by some of the main players in that book.Subject matter is a bit dry - it's murders over accounting and doctored books, and no matter how you spin that, it always seems a bit bloodless to me - but it wraps up entertainingly enough.There are a couple spots where the writing is really clunky, and one oops where Dallas refers to "Peabody, Officer Delia" instead of Detective, besides a few typos. I think we're getting to the bottom of the "acceptably lax" zone in Robb's writing - I'd be willing to accept fewer books in a year if it means she doesn't follow the same decline Mercedes Lackey did. A NYPD Lieutenant Eve Dallas investigates the murder of an accountant in front of a building being remodeled. While the attack was made to seem to be that of a mugging gone bad, several clues point towards a this being a clumsy, yet planned out attack and murder to cover up something the account uncovered. Why and who is the question.This is the first book I read by this author and I figured I would try this author and this series, but it just did not work for me.
