Enjoyable romantic read 3.5 stars. It's years since I originally read this book, back before I was reviewing, the reason I read it in the first place was because I'd read the synopsis for 'Fool for Love' and desperately wanted to read that so I decided to read the series in order. Now I have to say while I really like Marie Force I wasn't really taken with the synopsis for this book and I don't honestly think I would have read it in isolation. This is a fairy tale romance and it's well written, as you'd expect from this author, the characters are well developed and we meet some of Mac's siblings who will star in future books of their own. I didn't like the life that Maddie had, I didn't like the bullying she's suffered or the rooms she got to clean, I liked Mac and I positively loved little Thomas, this said I was more than happy that Mac stepped up because Maddie really deserved a break.I enjoyed this book more this time I think partly because the first time my heart wasn't really in it since I wanted to get to 'Fool' this time I just enjoyed it for itself. It's a shame how rumors are started and aren't true and hurtful! It is something that tends to happen in high school which is where this one began. Unfortunately, the rumor ruined Maddie's reputation and stuck with her into adulthood. Even adults who should have understood to not believe rumors snubbed Maddie due do things beyond her control.Maddie lives on the island and tries to lie low, do her jobs and take care of her son but she has been mistreated where she works due to the rumors therefore her being treated like white trash. On her way to work she ends up having a bicycle accident with no other than Mac McCarthy, whose family she works for. His family she is not fond of because she is not treated well at work. Mac feeling bad about her getting hurt destroying her bike and not being able to work or easily take care of herself and her son, he decides he will help her out. He takes over her work shifts at the hotel, daycare and then stays with her to help out with her son and her. She doesn't want him to stay because she will yet again be the talk of the town.I recommend you read about Maddie and Mac to find out what transpires between them and what will happen with them. Do they develop up into a long lasting loving relationship or does Mac believe the rumors and find she is not good enough for him or does she end up with someone else like Thomas's father.
Do You like book Cadeau D'amour (2014)?
Typical romance. What I always enjoy, is the dialogue Ms. Force writes. Quick and tasty.

More like 3.5 starsNot my style. It reads like a classic Harlequin romance.
