About book Brody's Ghost Book 1 (2006)

This book is short,I managed to finish it in just under 15 minutes, but it is interesting. It was too short in my opinion. It shows promise but with so few pages I don't feel as if I were able to completely make up my mind about whether I would truly enjoy reading this series. I don't think I will actively seek out the second book but if I can borrow it I would happily continue to read. This book reads as more of a brief prologue rather than the first chapter. Also the stopping point was very annoying and disappointing. Brody is a slacker who makes money busking with his guitar on street corners. One day he meets the ghost of a young girl who informs Brody that he is a "ghost seer" and demands that he help her make her way into the afterlife by resolving issues from her living days. To that end she takes Brody to meet the ghost of a great Sensei who will train the young man to use his (apparently formidable) untapped psychic powers. The story is set in a near-future dystopia (which I always enjoy), and the style of art is a pleasing combination of manga and more traditional western graphic novel. Overall, a funny and entertaining tale.3.5/5 stars.

Good potential, but hasn't gone anywhere yet. Like the detail in the drawing.
