The book I read was called "Box Out" by John Coy! The main name is named Liam Bergstrom. The sophomore from Horizon High School finally get a call up from Coach Kloss to play varsity. The first game he play the star player,Darius Buckner, quits the team because the coach being so critical of him and his style. Also Coach Kloss prays with his team before every game. Which is against their school district regulations. So Liam tell the school district and snitch on his coach. At schoool, Liam and Darius are treated differently and worst than before. What make it worst that Liam's girlfriend, Mackenzie Kost, is at France which is salt on the wound for Liam. Read how Liam get out of this situation. What I like about this book is it shows great imagery. It feels like you are at the high school dealing with these problems with Liam. Also what I like about this novel it isn't immature. When I first read this book I thought the problem would be unbeliveable and etc. But actually when keep reading the problem are more and more in depth. What I didn't like in this book it was a little bit too slow. After the first scene, which was amazing, it sort of slow down and it was the point that where the action at?Even though, it is slow I will still recommend this book to any sports fans. The book will pick up! When you read this book when it at its pinnacle of its speed buckled up because you are going along for a ride! I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I didn't have high expectations for it but it was surprising good. There were some pretty funny moments and the book is fast paced. It doesn't take itself TOO seriously and that's good. Being a female basketball player, I understood all the action in the book but someone who hasn't played basketball might get lost or won't get sucked into the story. The ending had a pretty hilarious (imo of course) twist. Also, *fist-pump* for female empowerment. I wasn't expecting that in the book but it worked out well. This book is a quick, easy, fun read with a simple, yet important message. 5/5 stars.
