Arnie, the doughnut dog, loves going to the bowling alley with Mr. Bing. Not only are the sounds thrilling and the game exciting, but there's also Karaoke! Arnie even plans to do a "7th Frame Stretch" during the big bowling tournament. He's written the song himself. Who knew that this distraction might destroy Mr. Bing's team's chances of winning the tournament? Suddenly, gutter balls abound. But with his pizza slice friend, Peezo, by his side, Arnie solves the mystery before it's too late.Cute. Lots of puns, silly jokes and illustrations that will give kids a laugh. Bowling Alley Bandit was both adorkable and unique. A fun combination between a comic, full of speech bubbles and asides, and an early reading book, Arnie the Donut packs an unexpected punch. Keller's writing style reminds of playwrights who break the fourth wall. She wrote Arnie as a unique and silly character who uses the audience to think and solve out a small mystery. An easy and absolutely fun read. I'd recommend this to first and second graders.
