Boomerang Bride tells the story of Matilda who has left her home in Australia to be with a man named 'Barry'. Matilda arrives in Hobin, Wisconsin to surprise 'Barry', but soon discovers the romance was a sham and that he has cleaned out her savings.Matilda was such a fun, and feisty character. I loved getting to know her, and I so wanted a happy ending for her. She was helpful, kind, and supportive to everyone that she got to know in Hobin. I found her extremely funny, and I liked how blunt and honest she was. Despite getting screwed over by 'Barry', she found ways to sort out her problems and wasn't bitter and depressed about her situation. I enjoyed her romance with Marc, but also hated that Marc didn't want anything serious. The other characters in the story were interesting, and I also really liked Lori. She was doing her best to deal with her illness, yet stay strong for everyone. I was glad when she relaxed a bit, and let Matilda help her out. I felt bad for Lori as she went through the physical and mental healing after her surgery. I was glad she had someone like Brian who wanted to be there for her despite everything.I liked Brian better than Marc. I appreciated how he stepped up his game for Lori, and made the effort to win her over. He was thoughtful, kind, and was so good to her. Marc on the other hand seemed really selfish, and his efforts to win back Matilda were pretty minimal. I had hoped for something wonderful from him when he went back for her, but it kind of fell flat. Still, I was happy to read the ending and all the great stuff that happened down the road for everyone. I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. Thank you! It took me awhile to warm up to the story line and the characters in this one but I did. I found the initial premise unrealistic but Matilda grew on me as did Mark. I have to say, I actually liked the side story line of Lori and Brian's romance better and just adored how Brian helped Lori get her self confidence back. All in all, a very nice read.I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

Another quick beach read. A little predictable and at times far fetched.

This was a light fun read. Well worth the time it took to read it.

Good writing. I just had a hard time connecting with the heroine.

This was cute. The main character got on my nerves, though.
