Every since an Fenris/Werewolf killed the March sister’s grandma and physically scarred Scarlett seven years ago Scarlett, Rosie and Silas have been hunting the Fenris.With a scar running from temple to cheekbone and others all over her body Scarlett is a fighter. With the attack haunting her in her sleep Scarlett spends most of her days training and hunting trying to get rid of her urge to kill all the Fenris. Rosie is the younger sister and feeling over protected from her sister, Rosie’s waiting for the chance to go hunting solo. That is until Silas comes back into her life and she’s thinking of a life outside hunting.I really liked Scarlett’s character, she was strong and now she knew about the Fenris she stopped at nothing to protect the ignorant. Scarlett can’t help feel jealous of her sister and other girls who have perfect unscarred bodies but I like how her jealousy and bitterness never stopped her from protecting people. It shows how good of a person she is.I did like Rosie’s character but she was really bland especially compared to Scarlett. Also I like how she went through a lot of trouble finding herself because though she owed her sister for saving her life, how much of being her sister’s shadow and sacrificing what she wants can she owe to her sister. However most of her story was focused on her love/relationship with Silas and compared to Scarlett’s story this was boring.Another thing I disliked about the book was that there wasn’t enough going on and it felt like Rosie’s chapters were there just to drag the book along. Also who the prospect was easy to guess and so the only thing actually happening in the book was the trio killing and hunting Fenris’s.I liked the sister’s bond throughout the story, it went through a lot of tough things including Scarlett’s urge to kill Fenris’s and Rosie’s want for freedom. I also liked how the ending fit the book really well.Also there’s this mini story told to the sister’s and it’s about a brother and sister and their grandma and I really liked the simple yet meaningfulness of the story and how each sister held their own meaning behind the story. Bisogna ammetterlo, la copertina è molto bella. Ben fatta, con colori adatti alla storia e che attira decisamente l'occhio con quel rosso ed il nero. La storia è una rivisitazione di una favola classica, Cappuccetto Rosso, di cui rimane la nonna, la mantella rossa, il lupo cattivo ed il cacciatore.Qui i lupi sono tutti cattivi, ce ne sono tanti e sono tutti uomini che attaccano e uccidono solo giovani ragazze. Più giovani, più carine e più ochette sono, meglio è.Sono i Fenris, una specie di licantropi che però mutano quando vogliono, uccidono, smembrano le fanciulle e che si possono uccidere senza particolari armi. Niente argento per capirci. Basta ferirli gravemente e loro finiranno in una nuvola di polvere. Puff!I capitolo sono alternati nella narrazione tra le due sorelle, Scarlett e Rosie.Personalmente ho trovato Scarlett piuttosto odiosa, totalmente ossessionata dalla caccia ai lupi, incapace di pensare ad altro, isterica, gelosa e invidiosa.Il dramma poi quando scopre che Rosie e Silas sono innamorati. Ma forse è normale quando un lupo ti lascia completamente sfregiata in volto. Il problema è che lei si fa ferire gravemente ogni volta che caccia.Rosie invece è più simpatica, innamorata di Silas, caccia i lupi solo perchè si sente in debito con la sorella, che l'ha salvata anni prima dal lupo che ha ucciso la loro nonna. Ma lei vorrebbe anche vedere come si vive normalmente, ed è più facile forse immedesimarsi in lei.Il loro rapporto è ben descritto, si descrivono spesso come un solo cuore diviso in due.Ma presto ci si mette di mezzo il terzo incomodo, Silas.Ovviamente, un po' di romanticismo ci vuole!Qui ce n'è il giusto, non posso lamentarmi che sia melenso.Tuttavia la narrazione non scorre come dovrebbe: le scene di azione sono piuttosto ben descritte, ma molto veloci e quindi molto corte, si interrompono quasi di colpo; c'è una serie di frasi che decisamente non suonano bene, come ad esempio "battito di sopracciglia"o "la lama le esce dalle mani" (non è Wolwerine, attenzione!), e non capisco se è tradotto male o cosa; infine c'è a tratti una mancanza preoccupante di virgole. Ma solo a tratti, all'inizio e alla fine. Chissà perchè.I capitoli si interrompono quasi sempre con una frase ad effetto e/o un colpo di scena, ma il capitolo successivo riparte come se fosse una nuova storia e non il proseguimento di quella vecchia.L'inizio e la fine sono avvincenti, il finale è in linea con la storia ed è molto bello, la parte centrale si perde un po' e annoia.Mi sarebbe però piaciuto approfondire la storia dei cacciatori: esistono da molto? Ce ne sono tanti in giro per il mondo? O ci sono solo Scarlett, Rosie e Silas.Strano poi che loro girino per un paesino prima, e per Atlanta poi con una scure appesa alla cintura, e nessuno se ne accorga.Lui addirittura la tiene nello zainetto, con il manico che esce fuori. -___-Per essere un young adult non c'è male, c'è di peggio in giro. Non vale però appieno il costo del libro. (16€)
