About book Blood Singers (New Adult Paranormal Romance) (2012)
I thought this book and the world created here was creative. Blood singers, vampires and werewolves. Not just Vampires, but shape shifting vampires that have singer blood within them(William). Not just any kind of werewolves, feral werewolves that also have singer blood within them (Jason). Warrior blood singers that turn into hulk like berserkers to protect their queen (Scott). In the middle of all the chaos there is "The One" the purest of all blood singers (Julia). The one that will bring change to all races. From start to finish this book was action packed. I'll admit that there were parts that I thought; "please move it along!", once it did the action kept going. I was very intrigued. I fell for William, Jason, and Scott. I really felt for Julia, she was like a hot potato backwards and forwards. Always passing out and awakening in a different location. My gosh, I would just stop trying to think to much about it. It was so much fun reading this book. Kept me at the edge of my seat and always wondering. Whenever I thought I was thinking in the right direction, I was proven wrong. Close but no cigar! Interestingly enough, I loved how the book left off on a slim cliffhanger and thank goodness for small favors, I had the sequel... This book was just "ok" for me. I thought it had great potential, and I can understand why people have given this book high ratings. The story really is heart wrenching, and the paranormal concept is very interesting, but it just didn't do it for me. I feel that I would have enjoyed this story a lot more if the author hadn't written in so many POV's. Granted, there are books out there that I absolutely love that have multiple POV's, but this was overkill. Not to mention random. I found it extremely distracting and frustrating when I would be reading Julia's or William's POV and then it would switch over to the POV of the detective or Cyn. I can understand the author's angle for doing this, but honestly, many of these POV's could have been left out and I would have understood the story just fine. But I do understand that some people actually really enjoyed all the POV's, so all I can really say is that this just is not a book for me. Even though I did like the story line, I won't be reading the second book any time soon....
