This book is just one giant disappointment, from start to finish. First off, it takes 150 pages for the author to admit that the lead is hunting vampires. *long pause* Its 2014, this is not a revolutionary idea. In the back half, yes half the book is exposition, there is not nearly enough exploration of the lore or frankly the fight. I can accept that this is a western but one of the 2 has to be the focus, ideology or battle. Everything is just skimmed over in this book the romance, the lead's opinions, the fighting, the mythology, its all just an uncooked Jambalaya. This story could have been told in a comic strip for all the depth and nuanced it had.I rarely write such negative review but I'm rarely this disappointed in a book. Picked this up as a 'what the heck' book knowing nothing about the author or his other books. While it's not going to leave you scratching your head trying to find hidden meanings, it really was an entertaining book. The way the characters are written - liked them and rooted for them right away. Highly entertaining book - finished most of it waiting for a plane so couldn't really put it down. I'll be trying other books by this author.
Do You like book Blood Riders (2012)?
A very interesting take on the vampire genre. Something new and different, I quite enjoyed it.

Light and fluffy with a predictable storyline.
