About book Blood Of An Englishman: An Agatha Raisin Mystery (2014)
This is the twenty-fifth Agatha Raisin book, and I've loved them all. Comfortable as cozy old clothes and intriguingly funny, this instalment lived up to all the rest. Agatha is hired to figure out who killed a performer at a local pantomime show, and this leads to dozens of characters and predictably unsuccessful romances for her. The cast of familiar characters are all there to help bail her out of dangerous situations, like being shoved in a dumpster over a waterfall....Fun! M.C. Beaton has published the twenty-fifth book in her Agatha Raisin series and reading the first line takes the reader back to the small Cotswold village in England with the thatched roof and Agatha with her glossy brown hair, brown eyes, and her indomitable quest for romance. She loathes amateur dramatics, yet is attending the local production of Babes in the Woods with her friend Mrs. Bloxby, the vicar's wife. Bert, the local baker, plays the part of an ogre and struts across the stage and disappears into a trapdoor. He does not appear at closing curtain and is discovered murdered. Agatha, a private investigator, takes on the case and the plot unfolds. Agatha puts her team of detectives on the case and they soon discover more feuds and temperamental behavior than in any professional stage show. Also, you would think by now that Agatha would have learned by her mistakes, but her flaws only make her more endearing. She yearns for a romance in her life and meets a new man who proposes, but realizes the idea of love is more promising than the reality.

Agatha is such a hoot with her G&T's, smokes, high heeled boots, and obsessive crushes!
