I have a VERY hard time believing that people hide HUGE truths and then are shocked when they get aired out by vindictive people. Maybe its because you shouldn't hide life altering things. other than that, this book had intriguing character but was fairly cliche. I was waiting for everything to happen... to me it was like 'Tragically Flawed' and 'Boarded by Love' had a child--at least for the dramatic turn of events. FINALLY got around to reading this one since I needed a break from my usual biker/rocker/dark erotica books and for the most part I really liked it!I read some of the reviews before buying it and tried not to be swayed by the negative ones concerning the twist in the story (I disagreed with them BTW...it was not unncessary to the story but gave a stronger reason for some of the heavy emotions going on)...and was pleased with how the whole drama played out.Ryan is running away from her abusive husband, comes home for her father's funeral (and to hide out from the monster) and is reunited with Trina, her best friend growing up and Shea, Trina's brother... the once "little boy" she used to babysit who is now a hunkalicious 21 year old man. I was not horrified or shocked or felt anything but excitement over the storyline...it was sexy, well-written, suspenseful and full of enough depth and character development to make it feel less like a soap opera and more just a good family drama.Although some of the actions and consequences of Ryan and Shea's romance are predictable (you could just see the trouble coming from Shea's jealous EX and Ryan's soon-to-be-ex husband) I still enjoyed reading it very much, although the repetitive sex scenes and some of the angsty dialogue could have been shortened and not dragged on so much.A fantasy read for any woman who has lusted over a younger man...and hoped for the HEA ending!**** 4 **** "from boy to man in a heartbeat" stars
