I loved this book. The only reason that it is getting 4.5 stars is because I didn't quite understand the "underworld" dealings/business. Besides that, I LOVED the hero. I take back anything I said about blond, blue eyed heroes! The tension and cat and mouse games between the hero and heroine were SUPERB. I felt like I was being seduced! I liked the journey that the hero helped the heroine take and how she took a leap of faith in the end. Fantastic! Swoon! I read up to chapter 16 (about 70% into the book).I couldn't decided who I hated more.. the self-absorbed, narcissistic hero, the heroine who was so busy playing martyr she forgot to grow a brain, or Anne Mallory for making me want to continue to read about this severely dysfunctional couple despite her really wordy and confusing writing style. I stopped just before I pulled all the hair out of my head.If all her books are written this way I'm going to havta sadly stay away from Anne Mallory... but I will give her a shot again in the future...once my hair grows out again:/
skimmed it, kind of boring, library ebook
