The plot becomes even more complicated when the town’s villainous businessman, also shows an interest in her as well. Molly’s open opinions and unusual teaching style creates both admirers and adversaries amongst the town’s people. She will need all the friends possible when her secret comes to light.This is not an unfamiliar plot: attractive, intelligent, strong-willed woman comes to a new town with a past that threatens to catch up to her, but the strong, handsome, Christian male protagonist is set to win her and after some obstacles all becomes well in the end. What keeps this from becoming a rehash of the standard-heroine-in-distress plot is the author’s quality of writing. Her imagery and descriptive accounts are invigorating, as is her ability to place refreshing characters and situations into the plot. Of note is that the main character is single and with child, yet she uses the situation to recommit to the Lord. Although an Americana Romance, the characters and some plot points seem too modern, especially the male, as he seems almost too good to be true, with his strong yet gentle demeanor. The resolution is rushed and predicable. Being this is the second in the series, undoubtedly the ending serves to usher in the next book. Readers interested One more marvelous rich story by Tamera Alexander! I’ve read somewhere that reading Tamera's books is like watching those oldie goldie movies like “Little House on the Prairie”. It’s so true! The stories are sweet and romantic with believable characters in true-to-life scenarios and good lessons. Beyond This Moment is a Christian historical romance with deep thoughts on God’s love, forgiveness, second chances and honesty but without preachiness. Lovely!
