This mystery kept me reading all the way to the end. It started with a fast-paced chase and even ended with action. It's a historical mystery set in 19th century London but travels to France and Ireland and back. There are multiple plots between Charlotte Pitt, her husband Thomas Pitt, and Victor Narraway, who all are working to find out who is the traitor in Special Branch before the whole Royal House goes under. It was a good private investigation and I would like to read another Anne Perry novel. This book was an absolute thrill ride, with plenty of suspense, mystery, and adventure. Anyone who enjoys reading Victorian historical fiction will find nirvana in the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series by Anne Perry, but do not start with this novel. Begin at the beginning, with "The Cater Street Hangman" and work your way through the series, each book brings you to the next and you'll be caught up in no time at all. Trust me, once you start you will not be able to put these books down.
Do You like book Betrayal At Lisson Grove (2010)?
great crime read without grisly scenes. but I had it figured out way too soon in the book.
