I've read some Amish fiction before and found this book seems to have more depth. I was fascinated with Marianna's beginning, the doubts she carried through childhood, and the hopes she has for her future. I read the book in one day (on vacation) and can't wait to start the next book! I want to see more about Marianna's quest for peace and her changing relationship with God and family. I definitely have not written Aaron out of her life, and yet Ben is there, too. And what will Levi's future be?? My reviews are my honest opinion of books I have purchased or received free from the author or publisher. This was such an interesting novel. I liked the characters, and I like how Marianna's journey is both physical and spiritual. This was a well-written and unique Amish story. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.I enjoyed reading this the second time even more, and I definitely would've been confused if I'd read the sequels now without rereading this one; it's been a while since May. I caught more nuances in the plot than I did the first time also. I truly like this one.
Do You like book Beside Still Waters (2011)?
An interesting take on an Amish family making the move to a less restrictive community.
