About book Bees In The Butterfly Garden (2012)

This my first read by this author, so I didn't quite know what to expect but the description was definitely unlike anything else I had ever read! And I am pleased to say that it was (In the best way!) I absolutely loved this book!!! It was just SO good! I was drawn into the story from the first page and hated to put the book down!!!  I loved all the characters (Well except for Evie, and I don't think I was meant to like her very much!) The setting, storyline, and dialogue were all amazing! And the message, oh my goodness, absolutely magnificent!I don't know what else to say except this book is pure awesomeness! I highly recommend it, if you like historical novels with some romance and mystery! Seriously, go get your hands on a copy, NOW! :-)I did not get this book to review, a friend of mine loaned me their Kindle copy! Thanks! :-D I've never heard of Maureen Lang or this book before, but the title drew my attention and, since the book was free for a limited time on Amazon, I decided to give it a shot - and that was a good idea. The book presents the story of a lifelong student in a high-society school, where every little girl is prepared to become a lady, attract a handsome and suitable husband and live happily ever after. The problem is, Margaret (called Meg) is no usual rich girl; her father has kept her at a distance for her entire life, because he was ashamed of his daytime (or better said, nighttime) activity: stealing. And when he dies and the young lady learns the truth, her life changes as she tries to prove her dad was wrong leaving her out of his life, when she could've been very useful to him, as she had strong connections with very rich people. Caught between a crush for Ian (her dad's young and handsome partner), Brewster (a not-so-friendly ex-partner of her dad) and her strong determination to prove she'd make a good thief, Meg finds herself slightly unprepared for the moral challenges this kind of life lays before her. *******Despite the fact that the plot wasn't very developed, I liked its unpredictability. I expected a different turn of events and a maybe a more clear ending, but then again, the book is part of a series, so the author had to leave something for the next books. All in all, a book well-written and easy to read even for a non-native English speaker.

Not my typical choice in books but I did get into the story as it progressed.
