About book Be Mine For Christmas (2000)

What a sweet, delightful romantic short story Alicia and Roy Street have written. It has heightened my good feelings this Christmas season. The main character, Ellie Dean, is an unemployed single mom who meets Reece Madsen while taking her son Brandon to see Santa at a tree farm. Brandon has run off through the rows of trees and Reece guides Ellie to the shop where Brandon is enjoying hot chocolate and watching Christmas decorations being made. Ellie is very independent and does not wish to be given a tree by the owner of the farm, Reece. She has a small, imitation tree already but not to the pleasure of Brandon, who becomes upset as he wants a 7-foot live tree. Well, as most romance stories progress, we know how they end. But this one is very special as you will discover when you read this uplifting story. I'm so pleased that I read it and I applaud the authors for their talents in presenting such a gentle story, very well written. An ok story. I really liked Reece but Ellie’s actions sometimes regarding her son did not seem right. Single parents might do all kinds of things to make it up to their kids or to cover up for missing things in their life, but I did not agree or like her outburst in the beginning towards Reece nor her idea of an answer to her son about his dad. I keep getting the feeling that it was too short of a story even for $0.99.
