About book Batman Incorporated, Vol. 1: Demon Star (2013)
4.5/4.75. I've always had issues with Grant Morrison writing the character to suit himself rather than writing to best serve the character and story, with his fantastical and idiosyncratic elements always making their way into the story in a jarring manner. That said, Morrison takes his recent Batman stories and combines them to craft something I've never seen him write before: a grand tapestry. On top of that feat, Morrison, Burnham, and the rest of the artistic team gel in ways I've rarely seen occur with a Morrison boom before. The art is still very Quitely/Dillon-esque, which isn't a style I enjoy much, but the layout and colors are expert and work to try and put on paper that which goes on in Morrison's mind, which has got to be a near-impossible task. This was a stupid clusterf**k! I'm pretty much done with Grant Morrison at this point. His other Batman attempts were a big fiasco too, such as Batman:R.I.P, etc..This is just a bad book with all kinds of lame nonsensical stuff going on. The members of Batman Inc are largely bad characters and they aren't put together very well...they all argue with each other and have bad dialog....what are they trying to do...nothing makes sense...just very unorganized and bad structure. DC needs to get it together if they're restarting the DC universe.Apparently Batman has only been around about 5 years in this, which kind of confuses me...but whatever. The art was okay, but not great.
