About book Bartimäus Das Amulett Von Samarkand: Graphic Novel (2011)

A graphic novel adaptation of the book by same name, it captures the graphic elements of the book well but fails to translate the witticism of the dialogue and underlying emotions that Stroud does effectively in books. The characters aren't explored as they are in books and they don't carry any agency. Its a great pictorial representation of the city and the elements of magic as having read the books it was easier to read through it without wanting to go back and refer to the characters again. It's a good read but can give it a pass if you have already read the books. If books are five start worthy for you, then this book a good buy. Been a long time since I last read the series. And that first book, yeah it was hard to like Nat the main character at first. Thank goodness for Kitty and the Djinn. Anyway, first book, graphic form. Art was bad, kind of liked it. Story too. Nat was a little unlikable but you get why he's like that. Still like the banter between him and Bart so that was good. And yeah, definitely how I'd pictured Nat when I read the first book. Didn't even know there was a GF for this and got a little excited. Love the cover.

Do You like book Bartimäus Das Amulett Von Samarkand: Graphic Novel (2011)?

Really not all that interesting, and the plot's a little ugly, too. The art's okay. 2.5 stars.

Incredibly funny! I loved Bartimaeus and his sense of humour as his perspective of humans...
