Do You like book Badger's Moon (2006)?
I read the first two Sister Fidelma mysteries a few years ago and am glad to pick it up again. If you haven't read these books, Sister Fidelma is indeed a nun in 7th century Ireland, but the Irish Catholic church is quite independent of Rome. Fidelma is allowed to marry and, as a sister of a chieftan, serve as a judge and investigator for Muman (Munster). Not my favorite, although I think it is an interesting move to have Fidelma suffering from post-partum depression. An intriguing plotline. As for the mystery itself, I felt it was weak. The motive of the culprit seemed to change from the beginning to the end. The introductory paragraphs definitely portrayed an unbalanced mind who seemed intent on honoring a pagan sacrifice. Yet when Fidelma reveals the evidence, the murderer is cunning and struck out of spite and jealousy. Too contradictory and
