About book Baby, We Were Meant For Each Other: In Praise Of Adoption (2010)

This is a strange book. I have yet to find the funny parts. I thought Simon would share about his own adoptions and then share other people's stories. So far, he has done a large amount of name dropping and yes, shared people's stories about adoption, but not in an emotional way. Just strange. I finally figured out why this book bothered me so much. This is not a book that tells of the heart warming experience Simon had in adopting two girls from China. No, this is a book that is trying to convince the reader that adoption is a good idea. Light and warm reading. I read this book in the month prior to leaving for China to bring home my daughter. Highly recommended for anyone adopting. Simon shares his own story of the adoptions of his daughters, as well as stories of other adoptive parents. A unique perspective - the stories of those who were themselves adopted. They discuss the lives they've led and what adoption means to them.
