About book Ayrılık Mevsimi (2000)

3.5 stars I found this to be a very compelling and enjoyable read. Certainly at times the story was disquieting and depressing but it could also be heartbreakingly beautiful. Like life. The title does not do it justice as this is not a story of a family falling apart one summer, but of a family that never could quite get it together and the ramifications that this has on each family member. The only thing that held back a solid 4 star rating was no chapter in Richard’s voice. With all of the other characters being complex and dynamic, his portrayal was a bit hollow. I didn't think I was going to like this book, but I ended up finishing it anyway. I'm still thinking about the book, so that makes me wonder if I'm not rating it high enough. This is the story of four siblings and each section of the book is told from a different siblings' viewpoint. I liked reading the story from different perspectives. A little slow at the beginning, but picks up as the book goes on. It seemed like a couple of the story lines weren't wrapped up, but that might just be me. ;)
