There's no reaction to the Axe Cop comics that can warrant any kind of sanity. From one hilarious endeavor to another, Ethan and Malachai Nicolle have created a world of really dumb superheroes and even dumber bad guys. I had never read the webcomic before picking up this book, so this was entirely new to me. Needless to say, I found myself having to stop between panels to let out really girlish laughter. The premise of Axe Cop is as simple and straightforward as the title itself: A cop with an axe who chops the heads off bad guys. This was thought up by the cartoonist's younger brother, Malachai. Despite having never seen Ethan Nicolle's work before, I found his commentaries very much interesting. My favorite parts of the book were the "Ask Axe Cop" segments, which is where we got to learn more about Axe Cop's incredibly deranged life.I think it was a really good idea to publish this comic in book form. Now that I've read it, I'll definitely be checking out the website. Axe Cop. Oh man, what a crazy graphic novel this is. Straight from the brain of the 5 year old who came up with all of the plots. Yep, really! His 29 year old brother, already a cartoonist, illustrated it and helped the process along.Anything can happen in this book and everything does. It is unique and not something I'll soon forget. I wasn't sure I liked it at first...further in, I started laughing out loud, and well before the end, was sharing it with family members. Everyone in my family ended up reading it and my 14yo expert on graphic novels pronounced it Awesome! Still a little too far out there for me, but fun stuff.
Do You like book Axe Cop Volume 1 (2006)?
This is funny and strange, but it would be since it comes from the mind of a five year old!

OK. The humor, a bit step-skipping sequences. Holy cow.
