On a secluded island paradise, Callum will do anything to prove he’s the perfect Master for his defiant, loving sub.My Thoughts:This was a good story with an interesting twist involving the reasons Gaby left and the healing of their relationship once Cal learns the truth. The characters are both very interesting and the story is well told. This was a very good story. I love Sophie Oak but held off on reading this story because I knew it would definitely make me teary while reading it. Callum and Gaby are involved in a D/s relationship when the story starts but they're just in breaking up...what a sad way to start a romance... Callum lost his wife years ago and swore never to love another woman. He wanted Gaby so he entered in to a D/s only relationship with Gaby. Gaby loves Callum and although he told her he would never want marriage or love she became his sub anyways hoping he'd fall in love with her eventually. After 3 years Gaby realizes her dreams aren't going to come true and she leaves Callum. A little under a year later, Callum and Gaby see each other at a party. Gaby has had medical issues that she's just recovered from and now has a job running an island resort. Callum is a jerk to Gaby at the party and she goes back to her island trying to forget him all over. Callum, in the mean time, finds out his not loving her wasn't the only reason for her leaving (aka medical issues) and decides to get her back. At this point in the story (and for a while more) I'm rather frustrated with Callum. He goes out to the island resort to attempt to win her back but he still wont admit to loving her. I'm not sure why he thinks he deserves her back when he still doesn't love her (or wont admit it). He decides she'll marry him (doesn't ask her..just decides) because that's what she wanted...marriage. She was forced to remind him that she wants him to love her and WANT to marry her...not just marry her to get her back in a loveless relationship. Callum pushes her and she gives in a little but doesn't trust him enough any more to give him her all (1 main issue is she's afraid of his reaction and possible rejection when he sees her scars from her surgery).In the end Callum admits that he loves her (after we find out why he held back) but he does it just as he's leaving the resort (yeah, he's still kinda acting like an idiot) giving her no time to absorb it, let alone believe him. With a little help from a friend they end up getting their chance. Callum gives Gaby the control she needs and lets her learn to trust him again. Gaby gives him her all and believes that he really does love her. The ending was great and had me tearing up.My fave line:"Master in the bedroom, Gabrielle. Husband everywhere else. Partners always."It is a very emotional read but well worth it. I'd recommend it but have a tissue handy. :)
