Well it was very good I did enjoy it a lot and can't wate to read the next one in this sears.The only bad is reading these books back to back.They never are as good as the last book in the sears.So this is the last one I will read for a wile then when I am ready to read the next it will be real good.So note here when you have a sears read one then read something else because the last is to fresh in your mind.But this was good and I did enjoy it. Sophie Enright is burned out from her law career and her two-timing boyfriend so she has decided to change everything and move to St. Dennis. At River’s Edge by Mariah Stewart, Sophie has decided to stop living the dream other people have for her and sets about trying to open a cafe. As if opening a restaurant wasn’t crazy enough, Sophie is filling in at her brother’s law practice while he is on his honeymoon and then she meets the sexy Jason Bowers.Jason Bowers has moved to St. Dennis to be closer to his deceased brother’s son, moving his landscaping business with him. Now that Jason has purchased property to run his business from, he is now eyeing the property next door as a place to expand his business but he has discovered that someone else has put in an offer on that property. But can Jason give up his dream for another?At River’s Edge is a great addition to The Chesapeake Diaries series. Stewart has created a warm, charming small town in St. Dennis where everyone is working hard to revitalize the town (and stay involved in each other’s business). As the seventh book in the series, At River’s Edge is a stand alone novel but I recommend reading the entire series, or at the very least reading Hometown Girl so you get to know Sophie’s brother Jesse and meet their charming grandfather. I really liked both Sophie and Jason, they both moved to St. Dennis to be close to family, recognizing the importance of those relationships. However, the conflict between felt a bit blown out of proportion, not that it wasn’t believable but it felt just a bit blown out of proportion. That being said, I admired Sophie for changing her career path so greatly, especially changing from a career as a lawyer (which is considered a more prestigious job than that as restaurateur). It was great to revisit the characters from the previous novels and I really enjoy the diary entries in At River’s Edge. I have to admit I am really looking forward to reading Ford’s story in On Sunset Beach.
