This is the sequel of At Any Price, Mia and Adam's story. This is a continuation of their love story with all their communication problems. Both are stubborn and both don't like to award control to the other, thus keeping information from each other. Mia has to make decisions on her studies, and Adam interferes, trying to defend his choices. His actions make Mia think he doesn't trust her, then he thinks she doesn't trust that he wants her best interests. Adam is a geek, therefore he doesn't understand the nuances of a relationship with a girl. Furthermore, his abandonement issues with his dead sister make him want to control Mia so she won't leave him. Add a stubborn independent Mia and you have a series of fights. In truth, all the back and forth got a little tiring and annoying until the surprise ending which also ended in a cliffhanger. Since this book is written in Adam's POV, you feel his anxiety and cheer for him, while you despair that he's such a guy and so clueless. On Mia's side, her silence and secrecy is very annoying and you want to tear her hair out for giving up so easily on a good guy. Me, like the rest of the readers struggling to understand Mia and her secrecy. Because this is Adam's POV, there was not much to go on. I had a hunch about what was happening but I myself do not understand the issue at hand. Mia was withdrawing and every time she would try to open up, it seems, even how important the conversation would be or what direction it would take, she just couldn't say it. Adam from the beginning of this book started to be obsessively in control but over all obsessive over Emilia. Man did this guy have a million things running through his mind and YET as smart as he is, still can't figure out what's wrong with Emilia. There would be times when she'd show how much she cared and her attraction to him didn't fade but guarded. She pushed herself away, from everyone, even her mother. It had to be something big, something that had to do with her and not entirely because of Adam. Sure they have couples issues but the biggest was TRUST and trust had to be earned through both parties and because they both had big secrets that shaped their decisions it was hard for them to be an "us" entity. Gosh I hope Emilia makes the right decisions and go through everything either with or without Adam by her side. I do feel pity towards Adam but his certainty, determination and caring ness just tells you not only is he also a HOT multi-millionaire geek but a guy worth having. A side note for the author: I love how this book, even though it has its handfuls of adult rated scenes, words, descriptions and anything in the exotic mixing,.. What I love the most is its a story. A story with unexpected characters, backgrounds, character roots and not full of hair-pulling typical drama but a page turner that either had me smiling, giggling, confused, mad, and reaching for my box of tissue, ITS A STORY worth reading. On to the next book and the conclusion we are all on the end of our seats to find out. Happy Reading!
