Oh my..... I wasn't expecting the heat but Shannon brought it! I couldn't put it down. I was pleasantly surprised I would like anything with a "quickie" at its core but I kept reading and really enjoyed it. Bailey was an intelligent lady in a bad situation who allowed one drunk night to turn her world upside down. And the world wind began with a per chance re-meet with a sexy man an accent that oozed off the pages. The many twists in the story made up for some of the predictable moves of a naive young lady looking for something authentic in all the wrong places. Should she or shouldn't she? Could she really let go an let passion have its place or would she return to what she had known and was safe. Typical storyline but told in a refreshing and steamy way that kept me reading and looking forward to the next installment. Kudos to Shannon for a well written story. A few grammatical errors but is well worth the read. Definitely a To Be Read book. Hmm, so I guess the test of a good book is whether or not you'd be willing to read either the next installment (if it's a series) or to read more from the same author. In this instance for me, it was most certainly both.I'm torn between 3.5 and 4 stars for this book. We meet a set of characters that have been given a nice depth by the author and a back story and plot that makes a nice setting for the characters' development along the way. There are some moments in the plot that we know what's going to happen next, but the authors personal twist and writing style engages you enough with the story that you'll over look a bit of predictability here and there. Maybe both the best and worst part of this book is the feeling that as a whole it's an introduction or a prologue to a bigger story. This is good in that you have a need to straight away jump into the next book which you can feel is going to be so much better, and bad in that you kind of feel a little cheated because you want more story to the book you've just finished. Either way, the next installment is eagerly awaited.
