Arthurs Tooth is about everyones favorite anteater Arthur and his frustrations about being the only student in his class who hasn't lost a tooth yet. His first baby tooth is starting to wiggle but he cant seem to get it out. All of his friends all believe they have the best way to get his tooth out, but he cant get any of them to work and he fears he’ll never be able to lose his tooth. Eventually his friend Francine knocks it out and all is well again I believe this book is great for children. It is extremely relatable, especially for children around that age where they are beginning to lose their baby teeth. This book can show them that it is a painless process and isn't scary at all. It can even give them ideas on how to get their loose teeth out when its time. The illustrations in the book were very fun, I enjoyed them as a child so I can still see children enjoying them in this day and age. In all it is a great book for young readers. My daughter has her first loose tooth and we found this book for one dollar at a used book store and she really wanted it. Arthur appeals to kids in a way adults do not comprehend (at least I don't), kind of like Elmo and Barney. I would give this book 1 star, my daughter would give it 5; 3 is the compromise. I am not a fan of the "Arthur" franchise. I do not like the illustrations and quite often the content; for example the scary imagery of the dentist in the book and the way Arthur's classmates tease him. I don't feel my daughter would learn how to cope from the imagery and teasing, only be exposed to the idea of it, which she can get on her own in the real world. Needless to say, she enjoyed the story, especially the scary picture of the dentist!
