About book Art Of Men (I Prefer Mine Al Dente) (2012)
I love Kirstie Alley and as such, really wanted to love this book - but it's very stream-of-consciousness and just as she'd get to a subject I was interested in (like her experiences filming Star Trek) that section would be over. I wish she had not chosen to define her book in terms of her experiences with various men - it limited the scope and make it more soap-y and less real. It was interesting to read her thoughts about Scientology (though I wanted more of that and less of the other stuff) and she definitely tells some cringe-worthy stories, but overall she could have used greater guidance in editing, in my opinion. A tell all book of al the men in Kirties Alley's life who she has worked with, loved or slept with. All have influenced her life in some way. Kirstie relates all the good, bad and uglt men who guided her throughout her life. Told in chapters about each man, I thought a few were humorous and poignant. To me, it was more of the name dropping of all the Big movie stars she has been involved with. While I have admired her work in some movies (Look Who's Talking) and tv (Cheers),I found the real woman to be both crass and self-centered.
