About book Apron Anxiety: My Messy Affairs In And Out Of The Kitchen (2012)
Beautifully raw, candid and poignant, Alyssa shares intimate details of her life in a way everyone can relate to...at least partially. With specific passages or even just lines bringing me to tears, I found Apron Anxiety to be a salve for a broken heart, a best friend to commensurate with, the perfect recipe for a rainy day. As a student of literature, I've read the greats, the literary canon...I'd chose something that fills my heart and hugs my soul like Apron Anxiety over any of those, anyday. I liked this. She was a total klutz in the kitchen then turned herself into a very good cook. You kind of have to get past the drama of her relationship with "Chef" but the way she discovers the pleasure of cooking is enchanting. Each chapter also ends with the recipes for several of the dishes she made or talked about in that chapter. I ended up marking about 15 of them to make in the future.Light, fluffy, pleasant way to pass the time.
