Open this little book by Jesse Klausmeier: the first thing i noticed when flipping through the pages is the colors in the story were your basic colors of the rainbow, which I thought was appropriate for a book like this. I also thought that it was clever for the book to go backwards and once you opened all the stories you could then go through and shut them. I do not think this book would make much sense without text it would just be pictures of animals rather then a story about friendship. This children’s story is very interesting. When I first opened the book, I did not expect to find a bunch of little books within one big book. I thought this was a very creative way to make this story more interactive for the reader. Klausmeier, Jesse. (2013). Open this little book. Illus. by Suzy Lee. San Francisco, CA: Chronicle Books. This book is very special that it gets the reader involved in the book. The book referrers to the reader and continues with the story. This story is about the reader opening a little red book. The reader reads about a lady who reads the green book. She reads about the frog reading the little orange book. He reads about a bunny who is reading a little yellow book, who reads about a bear reading a little blue book. Finally, a giant reads about all of them reading all the different books! To finish the book it starts by each character closing their book and encouraging the reading to pick up another one!
